Union Station Food Market

Hello people.

It's getting hot. The weather is getting or still is nice these days. Use it, abuse it, have some fun outside everybody. With better weather there is always more things to do, more stalls to see outside and try. Every few blocks seems like there are more food stalls opening for the summer.

Doublde Down Sandwich

This was from one of the food stalls there, double mini beef patties in a coconut bread bun with slaw. This was delicious, yet dry. Huge and filling all washed down with the ginger beer. A match made perfectly. The bit dryness from all that bread, with a nice cold drink to keep it fresh and crisp. All this was $11 together. There are so many other food stalls to try, would love to try the rest soon.
This is good, I bet all the other stalls are delicious as well, so go out and enjoy the different food vendors and try some new food today.

Enjoy the weather everyone.

IKEA eatin

Howdy folks,

Summer is still blazin, the weathers getting topsy turvy. It's hot, its windy, make up its mind.
Even though the weather is confusing, doesn't mean you should stop eating right. Anywhere you go, everywhere you go could be a place of food and treats.

I was helping a friend run some errands and stopped by IKEA. With so many items to see, Ikea also has a decent selection of meals, and snacks for a budget friendly price. Even breakfast here is a dollar I believe.

Vegetarian balls with broccoli and rice with beans (usually comes with tomato sauce, but substituted for gravy)

Usually I would go for the meatballs, the gravy and longan berry jam is delicious with the meatballs, but today I opted for an alternative. The broccoli's are just blanched, rice is bland, the vegetarian balls were a bit salt, and really lacked any flavour/texture. But all in all will I say this was a bad meal? I mean it did fill me up, for I believe $6.99 I wasn't overly disappointed. Though I did feel that subbing for gravy was a great idea on my part, added some taste and flavour to a boring meal. A bit healthier this wasn't bad.
Ikea you alright.

Well continue the journey, continue eating and enjoy your days.

Porchetta CO

Snap, Crackle Crackle Everyone

Those are the sounds of a tasty cracklin, or some tasty fried chicken.
My sister had brought me some Porchetta Co sandwiches, and boy were they tasty.
I love a good sandwich, and boy were these ever tasty. No extra frills, these are just simple and super tasty.

Pork Cracklin Sandwich

Pork was cracklin, sauce was saucy, with it dripping down everything was just finger lickin tasty. Not the hugest fan of the bread, but everything WOW. These were some superfine, super casual, super tasty sandwiches. Crispy pork, with other sliced pork, these were super tasty.

Fried Chicken Sandwich

These were the bomb. I mean fried chicken is always tasty, the sauce was killer, saucy and spicy oh my. These are just.. these are just crunchy, spicy goodness. It's a huge filler, So one of these will definitely stuff you up. Come and try these delicious sandwiches.

Sandwich, sandwich could eat these for days.

Enjoy the summer, enjoy the weather and continue to try different foods.

Tokyo Grill

What a food, what a place to live.

Living in Toronto has many good and bads. One great thing about living here is that it's so multicultural that you can try different foods from different culture within the city.

This time a place well visited was Tokyo grill which offers nearly authentic food. With  so many different sushi/Japanese restaurants, this place stays away from the sushi and goes for more classic regular Japanese food. I've never been to any other restaurant that offers nato.

From here I got the chicken katsu which is deep fried flattened chicken breast.
Chicken Katsu.

It comes with a side of rice, miso soup and salad and even the miso soup here tastes cleaner and more authentic compared to other restaurants.
The food here is affordable around Yonge and Wellesley.
I think it came to about $12.95 before tax.
Generous portions, and tasty food. The place is a bit cozy, but has a larger area in the back to accommodate larger groups.

If you wanted to try authentic Japanese food  without travelling there, check out Tokyo Grill for other tasty options.

China Cottage

How do you do everybody?

Got a hankering for some chinese food, or well american Chinese food and some indian so went to try some Hakka food which combines both worlds. After waiting for my friend we went to check out China Cottage and entering with high hopes, I was a bit disappointed. It could've been due to going at an off hour at 2, there was few customers.
Most of the restaurants have a $6.75 lunch special that offers rice, an option of daily soup, pop or spring roll, I chose the spring roll and the lunch option of chilli chicken which was suppose to be really good. The service was slightly lacking, and taste wise... personally it wasn't the best. It could just be me that wasn't a fan as it seems that they have a second restaurant that opened.

Chilli Chicken with Spring Roll

The meal was heavily sauced, lacked enough rice for the sauce ratio at least to me. The chicken is ok for the first few bites, but it gets tiring real quick. The meal was more sweet than spicy. Their hot sauce were thick red pepper sauce, and a pickled pepper sauce.

Would I come here again? If I had to with nothing else to try, I might come back but not my personal go to.

If you guys tried it and enjoyed it, feel free to let me know what is good.

Happy Day everybody.

Milestones Brunch

Hello everybody
It's the weekend, and weekends, people tend to relax so why not brunch. Breakfast and Lunch all rolled into one. Or why not do a breakfast brunch and lunch. 3 meals hooray.

But being the weekend looking for a brunch meal, we ended up going to milestones seeing the brunch sign up.

I've usually gone to Milestones for dinner, but seeing that they now have brunch, said why not. With multiple locations they haven't been that bad.

California Eggs Benny

These were tasty Eggs Benedict's. These came with shrimp, avocado salsa and bacon on a well cooked runny poached eggs and breakfast fries. But really my question is what is the difference between breakfast fries and regular french fries. Fries are always tasty either way. These were tasty yet a little expensive for a breakfast item at $15.50. Yum Yum

Strawberries and Cream French Toast

These french toasts were delicious. But really anything with syrup is pretty good. Strawberries thank you. Not a fan of cream but everything else, bread, strawberries and syrup yes please. At $10.50 these were pretty good.

Breakfast Tacos

The breakfast tacos are not that bad. Tacos good, bacon eggs good, salsa good, what can go wrong. Though it's a little small for my liking, at $11 but these aren't that bad. Even comes with fries. I would still go with other breakfast burritos but these will have to do for now.

Now that brunch is over, enjoy the rest of your meals

Captains Boil

Aargh  maties

Heres another round of food tastin, reviewin, travellin, and sailin into my tastebuds.
Coming back to Toronto, there is a wide variety of different foods to try. But the more places to try, the harder it gets to decide on what to eat. This time it was all aboard to the Captains Boil. Have heard great things and always wanted to try this place out. Hot steaming shellfish served in a bag, it has the fun aspect of seeing the food and sharing with friends. They have 3 different flavours but going with the captains boil flavours gives a mixture of all three. I would say, just get the captains boil unless your sure of one flavour you prefer.

Mussels

Usually I'm not a huge fan of mussels, because it's small and lacks flavour for me, or just get's overpowered by the sauce, but these were some nice tasting mussels. This was the spicy heat but wasn't that spicy. These were the biggest mussels I've tried. It felt like I was eating chicken wings, heavy and saucy, the shell fills up with the sauces and was a great combination of meat to sauce. This was 10.95$ and it was a good filling amount.

Shrimps

These shrimps were good. I'm usually a fan of shrimp, and like all shrimp. I can eat shrimp all day. These have the head and shell on it, and all perfectly edible, since it's all flavoured. The was the medium heat but was spicier than the spicy mussels that we ordered. At 12.95$ I would get the mussels if I was going alone, but definitely good to share.

Cajun fries and Cajun Seafood Fried Rice

The fries at 4.95$ and rice at 10.95$ depends on which you prefer, but both aren't bad. The rice is tasty even as it cools, but the rice is super tasty when hot and spicy. Honestly I feel like you need a carb, I love carbs with all the proteins and spice to help balance it out. So I would say pick one side, the rice is fun since you can pick the meat off and put it on the rice. The fries are just tasty.

So all in all, going with a buddy, this was way to much food for both of us. But it was tasty. I would recommended it for people to try. They have other proteins beside seafood, but and between the two of us it came to about 25$ each. So shiver me timbers, and yo ho ho to the Captains Boil.
They also give you a fun bib to not splatter all over yourself and gloves to not messy up those pretty fingers.
